Opening This Week - December 2

Wide Releases:

Directed by: Pablo Larraín
Runtime: 1hr, 39mins
Biography, Drama

This film follows Jackie Kennedy on her psychological and emotional journey following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. It also looks to be some of the most intensely emotional work Natalie Portman has ever done. Considering that, and the positive reviews it has been getting already, Portman may just be an early favorite for best leading female performance at the Oscars.

A Girl Like Grace

Directed by: Ty Hodges
Runtime: 1hr, 33mins

Directed by: Brad Peyton
Runtime: 1hr, 31mins
Horror, Thriller

In a bizarre twist, San Andreas director Brad Peyton decides to take on the horror genre with a film that looks to have borrowed elements from about a dozen other films. Still, Carice van Houten and Aaron Eckhart are talented, likable actors. Maybe it'll surpass expectation.

Man Down

Directed by: Dito Montiel
Runtime: 1hr, 32mins
Drama, Thriller

It may look like a solid film, but it's sitting at a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. The claim here is that Dito Montiel wastes an excellent performance from Shia LaBeouf in a self indulgent, heavy-handed film that speaks down to its audience.
