Wes Anderson's New Short "Castello Cavalcanti"

If you're anxiously anticipating Wes Anderson's new film The Grand Budapest Hotel the way I am, you'll be glad to know that Prada is presenting a new short from Anderson called Castello Cavalcanti.

It's just under 8 minutes long, takes place in Italy in 1955 and features Jason Schwartzman as Jed Cavalcanti, an American race car driver who crashes in the small town of his ancestors.

Slate informs us that it features many nods to Fellini, a director that Anderson frequently cites as an influence on his work.  Also, it would appear as though Anderson is giving a nod to another of his influences by naming the main character after Brazilian director Alberto Cavalcanti.

And if you want more... here is the Wes Anderson Parody that SNL put together a few weeks ago... in case you missed it.
